Past Conferences

The Civil Engineering Research in Ireland (CERI) conference series has grown initially from Concrete Research Ireland (CRI) and Bridge Research Ireland (BRI) symposiums, which subsequently held joint symposiums that became Bridge and Concrete Research Ireland (BCRI). Over the years, the themes of the conference broadened significantly, attracting submission from the titular areas, as well as from other areas in civil engineering. As the research needs broaden, and the range of submission widened correspondingly, the Organising Committee of BCRI 2012 recommended renaming the conference series to Civil Engineering Research in Ireland (CERI). Proceedings of the 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2018 Conferences are available below.

History of the Conference Series

  • 1995 The 10-yearly Concrete Practice in Ireland suggests a bi-annual concrete colloquium
  • 1997 First Colloquium on Concrete Research in Ireland held in University College Dublin
  • 1999 Second Colloquium on Concrete Research in Ireland held in Trinity College Dublin
  • 2001 Third Colloquium on Concrete Research in Ireland held in National University of Ireland Galway
  • 2002 First Symposium on Bridge Engineering Research Activity in Ireland, University College Dublin
